FAQs
What should I expect during my piercing appointment?
When you come in for a piercing appointment, you can expect a smooth and professional experience. Your appointment will begin with selecting your desired piece of jewelry from our extensive collection. While your jewelry is being sterilized, you will fill out the necessary paperwork, including consent forms and any required identification, especially for minors.
Once the paperwork is complete and the jewelry is sterilized, our piercer will prepare the area to be pierced, ensuring it is clean and ready. The piercer will then mark the precise spot for the piercing, allowing you to check and confirm the placement. The actual piercing process is quick and performed with care and precision to ensure your comfort and safety.
After your piercing is done, the piercer will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to help you take care of your new piercing and ensure it heals properly. Finally, you will proceed to payment. We aim to make your piercing experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. If you have any concerns or special requests, please don't hesitate to let us know.
Do you offer piercings for minors?
Yes, we offer piercings for minors. We believe in providing a safe and professional environment for all our clients, including minors. For minors under 18, we require parental or legal guardian consent, and both the minor and the guardian must present valid identification at the time of the appointment. You can read more about what identification is needed on our “About Us” page under the “Bring Valid ID” Tab.
What types of jewelry do you offer?
We pride ourselves on offering a diverse selection of high-quality jewelry to suit all styles and preferences. We work with both threadless flat backs and 14g threaded jewelry, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit for your piercings.
Our jewelry is made from high quality materials, including implant-grade ASTM F136 titanium, known for its superior biocompatibility and durability. We also have a large selection of jewelry in 14k and 18k nickel-free gold.
Can I bring my own jewelry for my piercing?
Unfortunately, we do not pierce with jewelry brought from outside our store. At Facet, your safety is our top priority. Since we cannot verify the quality and material of external jewelry, we only use pieces from our trusted suppliers. This ensures that all jewelry meets our high standards for biocompatibility, durability, and overall safety. We offer a wide selection of implant-grade titanium and nickel-free gold jewelry, providing many beautiful and safe options for your piercing.
What is your aftercare advice for new piercings?
Proper aftercare is crucial for the healing and longevity of your new piercing. We recommend cleaning your piercing morning and night with sterile saline wound wash on a q-tip to gently wipe away any crust, debris, or fluid that comes out of the piercing. After that, when you shower, clean the skin around the piercing with Johnson and Johnson baby wash. It's important to ensure the piercing is dry, especially the back of the ear, as moisture can foster bacteria.
We recommend coming back in a month for a downsize to ensure a proper fit as the swelling decreases. Additionally, avoid sleeping on the piercing and refrain from using any harsh chemicals.
We also offer free cleaning and checkups, you are welcome to visit as often as you like for us to check on the piercing and ensure it is healing well. If you have any questions or concerns, our team is always here to assist you.
Do you perform piercings on babies?
Yes, we perform piercings on babies. We understand that piercing a baby’s ears can be an important cultural tradition for many families. While we believe it’s best to wait until the child is old enough to ask for the piercing, we provide a safe and professional environment for families who choose to pierce their baby's ears.
Our piercers are skilled in working with young children and take every precaution to ensure a safe, sterile, and comfortable experience.
Please note that this service is by appointment only, we do not offer walk-ins for baby piercings. For more information about the procedure or to schedule an appointment, please call us. We are here to support you and your family with the highest standards of care.
Do you offer any warranties or guarantees on your jewelry?
Yes, we offer a lifetime guarantee on all our jewelry. This guarantee covers any manufacturing defects, such as stones falling out, the jewelry snapping, etc. Our commitment to quality ensures that you can trust in the durability and craftsmanship of every piece you purchase from us.
Please note that this guarantee does not cover loss of jewelry. If you experience any issues with your jewelry, simply bring it back to us, and we will be happy to assist you. We stand by the quality of our products and strive to provide you with the best possible service and support.

What is APP, and why does it matter?
The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safe and professional piercing practices. Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, the APP provides essential health and safety information, helping piercers, healthcare professionals, legislators, and the public stay informed on best practices in the industry.
Being APP-accredited means that our piercer, Sam, meets high standards in areas such as sterilization, hygiene, and continuing education. Choosing an APP member ensures that you’re receiving a piercing from someone who is committed to your safety, follows industry guidelines, and continuously updates their knowledge to provide the best possible service.
How do you ensure the safety and cleanliness of your studio?
We prioritize the safety and cleanliness of our studio to provide the best possible environment for our clients. We follow rigorous sterilization and sanitation protocols to ensure your safety during every visit.
We utilize a dedicated sterilizer for jewelry and an instrument dishwasher for all tools used. After initial sanitization, these tools are further sterilized in a separate sterilizer to ensure they meet the highest standards of cleanliness. Tools are processed and sterilized immediately after every use. Additionally, all needles are single-use and disposed of right away after each piercing. For new piercings, we always use sterile gloves to maintain the highest level of hygiene.
Our studio is cleaned daily, and we use a tuberculocidal disinfectant to thoroughly clean the piercing chair after every client. We also have designated trash bins for all biohazardous waste, ensuring proper disposal and maintaining a safe environment.
By adhering to these stringent safety and cleanliness measures, we aim to provide a safe, sterile, and welcoming space for all your piercing needs. If you have any questions or concerns about our protocols, please feel free to ask.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, we do accept walk-ins, but please note that availability is limited. To ensure you receive the time and attention you deserve, we recommend scheduling an appointment. This helps us provide a seamless and enjoyable piercing experience.
For certain services, such as baby piercings, appointments are required to ensure the necessary care and attention. If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, please give us a call. We look forward to serving you!
